I take photographs of anything that moves me, but I am especially drawn to landscapes, both natural and urban.
I shoot almost exclusively with digital and do much of my work at night and incorporate ambient light, different shutter speeds
and strobes to enhance the overall effect I want to communicate.
My photographs have been selected for inclusion in several juried shows, including: 2010 Natural Wonders, 2010 NJ ASMP
Fine Art Photography Competition and Exhibition, and 2009 NJ ASMP Juried Portrait Competition and Exhibition. I am privileged to have been chosen as a member of Team New York City in the 2011 Young Photographers Alliance Mentorship Program.
“Evening Swings” was published in Natural Wonders, 2010 by Photo Place Gallery.
I do most of my work at night. In the dark, the camera can see elements in the landscapes that the brain is simply unable to comprehend. Night photography is, for me, an exercise in creativity and collaboration with my camera. Although I always have an idea of what I might capture, sometimes I won’t know exactly what that is until I actually see it, or until my camera does. I love being surprised at what we discover together.
I believe landscape photography is not so much about the subject matter, but rather what each image reveals about a place, how it makes us feel and what it helps us remember. With my photographs, I am seeking to reach people who appreciate the nature around them – especially those people curious enough to want to see in the dark.
